is it possible to have a special selected first "start" status on workflows?

E.g. I have a workflow for tickets and one for normal projects.

I want to start with new on tickets
and with accepted on a normal project.

I seems for me that every time the first (that one with the lowest order id ) status is taken into account. So I have accepted as first and new as seccond, even
if I configured the workflow that it starts with new (accepted in this case is deselected and not configured)

This result in only accepted can be selected on a new ticket.

Any possibilitiy to cope with that?
