Is there a way that I can change the allocation of a resource on multiple activities rather than doing it individually?  I have read through the online manual and could not find information where I can select multiple activities and then make a change by allocating a different resource to the multiple selected activities.

Hello !

Have you tried using the multiple update tool on the assignments screen?

Assignments doesn't show the Activity or Ticket name so it is very hard to use it. In some of the earlier versions, in the actual Activity Window or Ticket Window where it would show the entire list of activities and tickets you could press CTRL and the mouse key and select each item (multiple items) and then reallocate the resource, or make the same notes on specific tickets and activities. What happened to this function/feature?

In some of the earlier versions, ...

Our versions are on an incremental development, if it was present once, we do not remove it and it will be present on the next ones...

Assignments doesn't show the Activity or Ticket name

indeed, but it sho the id... less easy to remember maybe but it works

In some of the earlier versions, in the actual Activity Window or Ticket Window where it would show the entire list of activities and tickets you could press CTRL and the mouse key and select each item (multiple items)

yes, and it is always available on any item list. This is the multiple update feature.

and then reallocate the resource,

it has never been possible to do this

or make the same notes on specific tickets and activities.

Yes, that's always possible.

What happened to this function/feature?

nothing, since it never existed for assignments and resources, but you can request a quote from our service for the sponsored

I appreciate your responses to my post and my concerns.
Regarding your comment of

I agree that it works, but it is not easy. However, there was a great way in version 8 and below where we could do it directly from the Activity Dashboard list. You could click on multiple activities and then make the required changes. Having something work is acceptable; however, making it harder is not a good approach, especially when you have such great free-sourced project management. I hope you can bring back the easy way.

Regarding your comment of

yes, and it is always available on any item list. This is the multiple update feature.

I cannot seem to be able to do this.  When I try it opens up a new tab everytime I press CTRL or SHIFT or the combination.  Would you know why this is happening for me?

Regarding your comment and my comment of

and then reallocate the resource,
it has never been possible to do this

It was possible.  I know this is bizarre, me a user, telling you, the programmer, that it was possible.  It was.  Maybe I am incorrectly using the terminology.  However I know that in version 8, I would be able to select multiple activities, then click on the option to change specific fields and one of those fields was to change the resource of who was working on the particular activity.  I know this was possible as I would do it regularly.  I hope this explanation may remind you of the feature/function.

I await to hear back from you.

Management of assignments was not possible on V8.0 and below.
Only advantage of old "Multiple update" was to be able to change several fields simultanéously.
But the drawback is that it was possible to change only fields listed on the multiple-update screen.
Now, new way to work with multiple update can only change one field at a time, but can change "any" field, including newly created through the Customisation plugin.

Here is a great step back in the past : V8.0 interface

You must activate multiple update mode

Yes, it was possible to change the "responsible" of an activity, but not to change the assignments of resources to the activity.
And it is still possible with multiple update.
And now with Assignment screen, it is also possible to change multiple assignements in one click, with only constraint that name of activity is not displayed, you must deal with its id..
