Hi,

As "admin" user is being used by 2 users for sometimes from the different systems, I found while searching history of any single activity, it was action done by admin, but I could not identify that admin has done action from which IP or hostname. Could you please assist me to identify?

Hello,
The point is that it would better in such case to have 2 different accounts for the 2 users, both with administrator rights (admin profile). That's exactly what profiles are meant for.
As you use the same account for 2 different people, there's no way to tell who exactly did the action you're looking for.

Anyway, you can have a look at the Audit connections screen where you can see some info about the connection of a user (in your case, admin).
For an example, you can see the platform (operating system), the browser and its version.
From those informations, you might be able to distinguish the 2 different people using the same account.

Hi,

Thanks for the quick response.

I understand that a user can be created with an administrator profile, and I have done so as needed. However, I face a limitation with twelve systems where I need to use the admin login. When an incident occurs, I try to trace it through "audit connection," as you suggested. Unfortunately, since Chrome is used on most systems, I'm unable to identify the specific station and must ask the system owner for any references.

From my past experience with banking software, logs included details of the IP and host, which helped in tracing incidents even when the same user was found. This is why I inquired with the ProjeQtOr team.

I believe it would be beneficial to have a similar feature in ProjeQtOr, where logs include IP and host details for better traceability.

Thank you for considering this suggestion.

Hi,

I don't think we would enter into this kind of logging in history, for two main reasons :
 - small interest for the community and so we won't spend time for such feature, unless sponsored
 - risks with GDPR : you could identify where the user was when doing things, so break into privacy without any leggit need to do it

Hi,

Thank you for your prompt response. I appreciate your consideration.

While I understand the concerns related to privacy and resource allocation, I'd like to emphasize the importance of traceability in our context. Having IP and host details in logs can significantly enhance incident investigation and accountability.

However, I respect your decision. If there's ever an opportunity to revisit this feature or if external sponsorship becomes available, please keep us informed.

Thank you again for your attention to this matter.
