Can i kindly get assistance on how the mailing system works? I set it up at the "mails at event" page but i haven't received any notification showing that it has been sent and there is no record of the mail as well.

When email smtp server is correctly defined (in Global parameters screen) and resources have emails, and emails on status is configured to send to some resources, you'll see in the "Console message" part (on bottom left) , "Item #xxx saves and email sent".
Then you'll see a new line in the Tools / Mail screen.
