I need to download between the latest stable versions.
Every time I try to download a version it takes me to the sourforge page.
When starting the download of the .zip and trying to decompress it gives me an error.

Download on sourceforge is normal.
Which version do you download ?
And what is the error you get ?
When I unzip the .zip, it appears to me:
An error occurred: activate the option "Store the output of the compression program"
Active output however does not show me the (.zip) files in the .zip folder
The system we are using is debian

I downloaded several versions with the same result
I think you should upgrade your zip programm.
Unziping on debian like distro works fine...
Or possibly it is due to the way you copy the zip file to your server : if you copy in text mode you'll have issues, always copy zip in binary mode.
