[#7240]

Hi,

I would like to ask whether it is possible to display the dependencies in a column in the left table of the planning menus. It would be useful to view and export the Gantt chart with the dependencies information as it is one of the key elements in Gantt chart and concepts in project management. It would be much easy to identify the linked tasks and the dependency types if it is able to view the dependent task in the table instead of clicking into each activity or viewing the right chart area by the arrow lines linking the tasks' bar.

I included screenshot of the default "Predecessors" column and nomenclature used in MS Project for your reference.

Common Nomenclature:

[Dependency Type]+[Lag (if any)]

Dependency Type:

  • Finish-to-start ("FS" or blank in the column as it is the default dependency type)
  • Start-to-start ("SS")
  • Finish-to-finish ("FF")
  • Start-to-finish ("SF")

Example:

  • Dependency code for Task B: "1SS+2 days" = Task B (ID=2) cannot start until Task A (ID=1) starts with a lag of 2 days. (i.e. if Task A start on Mon, Task B cannot start earlier than Wed)

Moreover, is the dependency type "Start to finish" missing in the dependency type option? I noticed that if I import a MS Project with "Start to finish" dependency, the type is blank.

Thanks,
Rainbow

Hi,

Request recorded as Ticket #5238

ProjeQtOr does not manage Start-to-Finish dependencies. So import will not import them. In fact no dependency at all should be imported.
