Hi,
I know that the calendar can be modified in order to define any day as working or non-working, but I am facing a problem between two different projects:
- project A uses standard work week (Mon - Fri)
- project B uses the full 7-day week (Mon - Sun)
Would you have any suggestion for managing both these projects within the same database ?
Thanks.
Hi,
No, 7 work-days per week will lead to weird planning.
And do your resource work 7 days a week ?
How do you expect to define work days for resources ?
This is for a project which is of call-center type:
I need to have some support available 7days a week, so some ressources will be working over the weekend.
Each resource would only work 5 days in a week, but for each resource the "rest days" will be different. For example:
- resource Bob will work Mon - Fri
- Alice will work Tue - Sat
- Calvin will work Wed - Sun
So.. I'm not sure how to work around this, I must admit! :S
And I'm especially worried about doing anything which would cause problems for other projects which are on the same database and which have "regular" work times.
Hi,
Only solution I can imagine with current version is to define calendar with all days on, including week-ends.
Then you define an activity on an Administrative project, such as "Rest days".
And every resource (or resource manager) enters some real work on this activity for rest days (must do this for all weeks in the future).
No very fluent, but should work.
An evolution is planned to be able to define several calendars and assign a calendar to each resource.
This could ease the management of your case.
Hi,
indeed that should work as a workaround solution. Thanks !
I did see some threads about a calendar for each resource (or project ?) coming in a future version, that will be nice indeed. 🙂
