[#2439]

Hi,

I would like to add Contract and ContractType models but ContractType already exists. However, I don't think it is used in ProjeQtOr, can I safely overwrite it? If it is not used, could this be deleted upstream so my ContractType is not overwritten on each upgrade of ProjeQtOr I do?

Thank you,

Hi,

Contract and ContractType are not used yet, but they've been prepared for a future version.
(prepared quite a long time ago, with no idea today of target version)
So if you overwrite these, you take the risk that one day they will be used in Community version. Your version will then not be compatible with community version.
One solution is to take other names for these elements, for instance prefixing them with a code that is your own.
Another solution, without waranty, is to post your solution to the community. If your evolution is interesting for the community and is correctly developped (respecting the framework) it will be integrated in next community version. 😉

That's the plan, I developed a few features that might interest the community. My developments should end by next week. Then, I need to check with users if specifications are met and complete user documentation and technical documentation. Can I use information@projeqtor.org to email you then?
