Hello Babynus today we have within the company 4100 items open with a default workflow. This workflow is quite heavy and not very readable. One of my colleagues would like to change the workflow model by removing some steps from the current workflow. I would like to know if this is possible? How can this be done quickly and easily without doing everything manually? Will tasks that are in a state that has been deleted from the new workflow automatically move to the next or previous state?

Best it to change the workflow so that it is possible to move from the "removed" status to another, but not from another status to a "removed" one.
So the items will progressively (as they live) be removed from "old" status to remove, and when none remains you can completely remove the status from the workflow.
Other opstion is to use "multiple update" to move to a new status all items on a specific status to remove.
