The Gantt view in ProjeQtOr is quickly limited in a professional context (the responsive design is not perfect, the display of elements is rather simple, it is not possible to differentiate milestones with icons, etc.).
Although data is indeed the most important element in project management, its display is an important criterion for acceptance of the tools by management.
Are there any plans to develop this area further, for example by integrating more professional components in the visualisation section?
I'm thinking, for example, of components such as SmartHTML Element (without going into particular advertising, but these components are quite well made and the licences, although commercial, are inexpensive and allow deployment without royalties).
The components, particularly Gantt Chart, offer a lot of possibilities and could lighten ProjeQtOr's code and therefore its maintenance, while offering interesting functionalities (see https://www.htmlelements.com/docs/gantt/).

Once again, this is just an example, but it seems to me that the reporting and datavisualisation aspects are currently holding back the wider adoption of ProjeQtOr.

Best regards,

Hello

We always try to bring the maximum to our users, despite the fact that our software is completely free!  We cannot integrate every request.
Our users come from all over the world, are not all in the same field of activity and unfortunately not everyone works in the same way.
Features that would be useful to you may not be useful to thousands of others.

So, being accustomed to our services, you know that you can go to our roadmap to check the next developments and if, as you wish, wish to integrate functionalities into the application which would be useful to you, we will be happy to offer you a quote!

You are now against improving the UI, and sure would like.
For every component we introduce we must consider
 - licencing compatibility with AGPL deployment (not sure SmartHTML is compatible) - we cannot deploy a free product including components that have paid licence
 - existing features : will the component be able to reproduce all features of existing projeqtor ?
 - performance against high volumetrics : can the component display thouthand of lines ?
 - time to spend to replace existing with new. There are so many features that must be reproduced that this may be very (very) heavy workload.

Hi,

I had a quick glance at Smat HTML Elements Gant chart.
This "modern" component lacks of some basic features, for instance the "double part" with possibility to scroll on Grid and on Chart, horizontally on each part and vettically synchronized scrolling of the two parts.
This si also no information on performance to display thouthands of lines.
We recently implemented lazy loading and lazy rendering on Gant chart, and Whaooo, it a heavy work (not finished yet as some issues still appear in some cases with large projects)

Hello,

not to defend specialy one component (i don't get royalties from them 🙂 !) but in this case there is a test for 100k activities Gantt and it is real fluid.
I understand for two parts wiev but i wander if this is really a "plus" for ProjeQtOr regarding other Gantt function. With the hability to set some screen configuration (great value to ProjeQtOr), it is possible to work either on a large "left part" to set values for instance and, in other way with short for viewing most Gantt informations.

For licencing, i understand an you're right, keep ProjeQtOr free is necessary.

But using modern component is also a way to pass through reticences from users (and, most of the time, managers who only see the "beauty of rendering" in place of efficiency of product).

Regards,
