I got the same need.

for the time being, it isn't possible to manage a ressource working on different projects with different profile (ie: project leader on 'Projet A' and simple employee in 'Project B').

One must give the highest profile to the user. So the confidentiallity in some projects is no more respected.

I have a workaround, which works fine: I set up different users for one person. E. g. JohnDoe_P (for all tasks he is project manager) and JohnDoe_T (for all projects he is team member). Solution proposed is fine, but not one of my urgent requests.

I make exactly same as Clim4Fun, I have 2 profiles for same resource (Project manager and service manager one is a resource other not)

I think adding more and more configuration will confuse the administrator, today a simple project manaer can configure tool, I think it's fine for me 😀
in general : more parameter = more complicated = more bug (oups sorry Babynus this remarks is not for you ;))

it takes 15 seconds to disconnect and reconnect; this is reasonable.

But if your users have some spare budget, babynus ought be happy to develop this additional feature with higher priority. 😉

In the real world of Project Management, it is absolutely necessary to be able to assign permissions "per User" and "per Project". I installed "Project'Or RIA" on my server last night and was so excited with the perspective of configuring it today... but, without that feature, I'm afraid it is useless (for my business). 🙁
