I know that there are a ticket for configurable today screen in your reflexion, I suggest to separate the today screen in 3 areas :
- The project
- The work
- The Follow (or any term most comprehensive)
The work will be only activity with direct action by user in the project
The Follow will be only activity that the user is responsible
In my compagny we do an average of 30-40 projects per year from 3 month to 3 years, I'm affraid that if all activities for all project are shown at same level the user could be confused and loose something.
An other addon could be add a periode that the user whant to see in his today screen by simple checkbox or scroll down menu like
o work for next week
o work for next month
o woks for next year
o show all

Here are some interesting ideas.
Just note that on today screen, not all items are listed.
Only items in relation to the user are displayed : the one he is the issuer or requestor or responsible or affected to.

I'm trying to perform this modification myself (I'm not expert in PHP an SQL but it's good exercice to learn 😉 .
Now I have 3 area on today screen the "work aera" now display only items that affected to user, "folowup area" whown all item that user is responsible (no direct action).
I have some trouble for the user who create the item because all are displayed in both area even if actor or responsible.
I'll send you the result of my work when I'll solve this issue. free of you to use it in future version 🙂
