When I try to "Copy the current profile" on ProjeQtOr V4.3.1 (101) as per attachment, the newly created profile does not inherit the same configuration ?
why this is so ?

Because "copy" functionality only copies description and not configuration.
But you are right, this could be an intersting improvement
