I encounter a bunch of such errors that happen quite often:

I'm not sure what the root cause is, as ticket mailbox seem to work otherwise...

With the limited information available in the forum post, it is difficult to identify the exact root cause.
I would first suggest checking whether the issue always occurs with a specific type of email or a particular message (attachments, automatic replies, mailer-daemon messages, etc.).
If the issue becomes recurrent and no clear pattern can be identified, it would probably be better to contact the dedicated ProjeQtOr support service so they can investigate the IMAP exchanges and server logs in more detail.
