When the supervisor copies a template, (including himself as resource) he cannot find the copy he made.
Settings: Organisation: 1 unit and 3 departments. The supervisor is head of a department. In "Access to data (project dependant)" He has Manager access.
If I switch it to Manager+, the problem is fixed, but then he sees way too much projects.
What am I doing wrong?

Please describe you rights configuration (what you changes from default) because for me a Supervisor cannot create a project (so cannot copy existing one).
NB : you can test default behavior on Demo
[EDIT] I just tested changing rights of supervisor to Manager on Project : then supervisor can copy a project, and sees it correctly.

I checked your screenshots : all seems correct and will fit what I tested.
You changed supervisor access mode to Manager for project.
So supervisor can create new project, possibly copying another one.
When this is done, supervisor is automatically allocated to the project (to get rights to see it). Take care not to remove this allocation 😉
Problem is solved after updating to Version 7.1.2
