[#7650]

Hello,

First of all thank you so much for creating such a wonderful tool.

Currently, it looks like the WBS sorting is done by using alphabetical logic and not the true WBS logic.
For instance, for activites :
WBS     Activities
1.1        Activity 1
1.10      Activity 10          <== should appear after Activity 9 according to me
1.2        Activity 2
1.3        Activity 3
...          ....
1.9        Activity 9
Do you consider this is an issue to solve (hopefully) or do you consider this way of sorting works as expected?

Best Regards

Hello

By any chance, didn't you click on the title of the name column, which, in this case, will sort the rows according to their name and not their wbs.
Re click on the title of the WBS column and everything should be in order.

Basically, items are listed in order of ID.

Hello, Thank you for your reply.
Unfortunately, your suggestion does not solve the problem, as what I am doing to reproduce the behavior is actually clicking on the title of the WBS column.
To illustrate, here are 2 screenshots where you can see that the sorting is actually done according to the WBS title (triangular ascending icon):

  • the 1st screenshot shows that the begining of my activity list starts with WBS 1.2.10
  • the 2nd screenshot is further down in the same list, showing that after WBS 1.2.17.7 there is WBS 1.2.4

In my opinion the correct order shoud be: 1.2.4 then 1.2.10 then 1.2.17.7 For the moment, the sort is: 1.2.10 then 1.2.17.7 then 1.2.4

Indeed, you have a problem! We are not reproducing this anomaly.

What version of ProjeQtOr are you on?

Try to run a consistency check in the administration menu. And correct the mistakes.

OK, I understand you do not reproduce the behaviour.
I currently use ProjeQtor v9.2.1 locally on Windows 10 with xampp 3.3.0  to run Apache and mySQL.
The consistency check shows nothing strange (see attached file) and so I can't fix anything.

What I will do (later on) is :
- update ProjeQtor to the latest release (v9.2.2) and check if it solves something (but I guess nothing will change as probably nothing has been modified in that area of the code?)
- then possibly update mySQL via updating xampp (if any newer version) and check

Update, since I've tested further the behaviours:

  • the problem appears (at least for me) only when I specifically ask sorting by clicking on the title of the WBS column (which is quite confusing)

but (good news):

  • sorting via the filter mode [WBS sort ascending] does work as expected [good news, even for me as it's a workaround for me as it solves my issue]
  • using no filter at all also shows activities in the correct WBS order

I hope this additional info helps, meanwhile there is anyway a workaround (if anyone has the same trouble as me)
