I would like to know if it is possible to automatically generate an email when a ticket expires soon. For example: sending an email to the responsible one week before the planned due date.

Yes,
It can be done through "Indicators" that helps you manage warnings and alerts.
It can also be done through Notification system : this system has to be activated first on global parameters.
