May you advise in what menu to click on the task to view the icon for the assignment details history? I went to the projects menu, activities menu, gantt view menus and cannot see the icon you showed.

Hello,
It may depends on your profile or whether you have activated the display of the history in your user settings.
Try to activate "on request (through specific button)" as you can see on the pic below.

Thanks for your advise. Actually I would like to see the detail change history e.g. [Resource Name] , [Rate%], [Assigned (d)] when modified.  Is it possible?

I'm not sure I correctly understand what you expect.
Here is what you can get from the history :

"Operation" will be something like "insert, update,..."
"Data" is the current data being modified. It can be any data linked to the element.
"Value before" and "value after" reflects the change.
"Date" is (obviously) when the modification took place.
"User" is who did it.

When history is displayed, click on " show work", you ll get all informations you are looking for.
