Hi,
it would be useful to have a default view of gantt with not a beginning from the today's date (offset in the past) in order to have a better overview of the project.
This value could be set in the user setting's page.

This is exactly what does the "display from" in gantt view.
You just have to check "save the dates" to save the date as default.
