When deleting activities in the middle of my project the wbs of the rest is not affected.
For Example:
Let's have 3 activities with wbs 1.1, 1.2 and 1.3
After deleting 1.2 the wbs of 1.3 will not be recalculated to 1.2
Even saving all activities does not solve this issue.
Tested in Version 4.2.3

This is a known limitation.
Ticket #1203 already exists for this subject.
