Something like : ProjLight -> to keep original idea of enlightening projects.

and the term "light" (regarding the weight) could be - light to implement, light to install, light to use but not light in functionality....

not so easy to find a good name...

First name of tool was Project'Or, for Project Organizer.
But this is not Google friendly : impossible to find the tool amonst all the lighting devices.

Then it gained RIA extention, for Rich Internet Application.
It's more Google friendly, but a bit long and not easy to keep in mind.

So, I invite you to propose a new name for Project'Or RIA.
A poll will then be provided to vote for new name.
Maybe we'll find together the right name for the right tool.

I didn't have a better solution, but let me chip in following:

If I read the word light, I always associate a reduced version of something - e.g. Light Cheese or Light sausage has less fat. Software light for me is connected with less functionality then the full packeage. Even Light for enlighten would be a nice idea.

In my team we call it only Projector. Considering words of ambroise1er, then it might be possible so say "Smart ProjeQtor". But if you google for project management, then "Smart Projector" might be found, but not "Smart ProjeQtor". Please correct me if I'm wrong.

The issue is that if you search for "Smart Projector" (in Google or other search engine) you'll find many lighting device sellers, and the Tool will possibly not be in the first search page.
As of today, results for existing name in Google are :
"Project'Or" : web site in 5th position, french wiki page in 2nd
"Project'Or RIA" : web site in 1st position
"projectorria" : web site in 1st position

So the new name must be "Google friendly", this means easy to identify and find in Google.
"ProjeQtor" should do the trick.
"LightProj" also.
"SmartProj" too.
But "Smart Projector" should not.

Then, about finding Project'Or RIA when searching for "Project Management" tools, it's not the name that will do the trick, but key words on the site (I did all I could to manage this) and notability of site : this, only a large community will be able to bring the tool on first rank.

I have tried project'or ria some months ago during a software selection process for a project and portfolio management tool, and i followed changes each month last year.

The my suggest is "projecto"

I have seen that
- projecto.org and projecto.com are not used by any other company at the moment
- there are no other software tool in the first few pages searching "projecto" on google
I think projecto is easy to reminder

Projecto can read as similar to project'or but anyway in the past i talked with some marketing strategy specialist and all of them told me that in the "rename process" a great change often is better than a small change

1. Project'Or RIA isn't just a project organizer, but also a full CRM+ERP : Isn't it ?
2. All domain name extensions with LibreManager are free ;
3. All well known domain name extensions with smartproject aren't free ;
4. SmartProject already exists : smartproject.numetrics.com

Libre is Project'Or RIA ;
Management suite is Project'Or RIA.

Free Rich Enlightened Extended Project Management Tool

As an acronym, it's follows many patterns names of open source projects.

But it can be any variation of this name :
- FREE ProjectOr
- FREE PM (if "Tool" is too long)
- FREE PROJ (for PROJect) or FREEPROJ (one word)
- ...

But PMT is an acronym already used with other meanings...
So this may not be a good idea...
And PMS (S for System) is also used...

Let me chip in a great advantage of a rename of ProjectorRIA:

ProjectorRIA is set on "blocked list" at Wikipedia. A new name offers a new chance to enter a Wikipedia entry for this great tool. 😉
