Hi,
I'm on 7.4.2.
When I try to add a meeting with assigned resources, I get an error "unplanned work" ("travail non planifié" en français).
If I delete the meeting and I put a task instead, it works. If i put the meeting again, it failed.
I dont know if I am missing some step or trick.
Any Help will be welcome

Hello,
Can you post your logs file please.
Hi,
Thank you for your interest. After another couple of retry, I found that the calculation error occured because some resources were overbooked by another project or another affectation.
So, I had to reaffect resources to be compliant with their capacities.
I close this topic :-).
Yes, "not planned work" message indicates it is not possinle to completely plan the activitiy or meeting.
It can happen for Meetings (where planned work must be planned on meeting date, not after).
It can also happen for activities : if allocation of resource to project has end date defined at tomorrow, and the resource has 5 left days to work on activity, there will be 4 days of "not planned work".
Thank you for your precisions 🙂
I am now able to plan with a better understanding of the right behaviour.
Thanks,
Regards
Hello
I regularly have the same problem.
What is the best process to determine where the issue comes from ?
In my case, two 1 day meetings cannot be planned. They concern only one resource which is globally 100% affected to many projects but only at 10% on the project featuring these meetings.
How can I tell the planner that even if this project should occupy only 10% of the time of this resource, sometimes these meetings are prioritary over the other projects ?
Best regards & bravo for this software which is really impressive

You cannot bypass this constraint.
Ok. I understand that I cannot bypass it.
Therefore, is there a way to know how to unblock this situation (I just know that these meetings are problematic) or to organize more efficiently my projects so that this kind of situation works ?
Typically, I organized in various projects my activities which correspond to different charges.
I created some project templates containing milestones, activities and meetings (by the way, I have to set a fake date to the meetings) which enable to plan efficiently new projects.
I have ~10 parallel projects in parallel with ~ 10% assigned to me each.
I imagine that a full day meeting in a project where I am assigned 10% worries the planner ?
No, you can manage it easily.
Just don't set restriction to allocation rate to project (set all at 100%).
Just set assignment rate to ensure you work at correct rate (10%) on each in parallel.
This way, meetings whould be correctly planned.
Thanks for your quick answer.
Just to be sure I set the right parameters at the right place:
- in the resource page, I set every project rate at 100% even if it worries Projeqtor that the total amount of affectations is over 100%
- in the assignation of each task I put the real rate, say 10%
?
