Hi Babynus
You answered me about priority on projects and subprojects but I did some tests and I'm not sure how to interpret the result.
My results were: (Sub= sub project, act=activities)
- If priority is medium (500) on all (project, subproject and activities), the lower WBS is planned first
- Project A (300) , Sub (500) , Act (500) and Project B (500), SUb (500) Act (300), the activity of project B is planned first, so the priority on activities is more important than priority on Project.
- Project A (300) , Sub (500) , Act (500) and Project B (500), SUb (500) Act (400), the activity of project B is planned first, I don't understand why?
Is it necesary to replan to take in charge the update of the priority even if "automatic run plan" is enabled?
Could you explain me the relation about priority between project, subproject and activities? How the priority is taken to create the planning?
Thanks.
Thing on priority as global like [Priority on project].[Priority on activity]
Project A (300) , Sub (500) , Act (500)
priority is 500.500
Project B (500), SUb (500) Act (300)
priority is 500.300
Activity on B is planned first !
Priority on top project is not taken into account, only priority on project of activity.
Thanks Babynus, it takes sense...that's why I need to change the priority of the sub project (if exists). :woohoo:
Thanks a lot for sharing your knowledge.
Is it necesary to replan to take in charge the update of the priority even if "automatic run plan" is enabled?
Could you confirm me ?
Yes and no.
Automatic planning runs only on Gantt view.
If you change priority on Activity view, you have to run planning manually.
But if you do in on Gantt view, planning should be recalculated automatically.
Thanks, I have a better understanding about how to use the priority on ProjeQtOr.
