i'm using fixed duration for activities with no assignment.
So, creating activity with fixed duration of 40 days and 20 of validated work.
As i reprot earlier, it is impossible to change progress in planning view (i see tickets records for that).
But, if i change progress via activity screen, state doesn't change (activity stay recorded with 30% progress - must be "en cours" - even with 100% progress (must be "done").
Related states exists in workflow for that activity type.
"recorded" is the first status, as usual (id #1, order 100)
"en cours" is the first "In progress" status (id #3,order 300)
"fait" is the first "done" status (id #4, order 400)
all state are accessible by user profile in workflow.
Can't reproduce on demo, i think option "manuel progress of fixed-duration activities" is not set to YES.

Note that status don't change via Timesheet (see demo, activity #13).
The automations on status change are based on Real Work entrey on Timesheet.
So in your case they are not triggered.
For testing, i use "as soon as possible" for activity planning
Automation does not depend on planning mode : automation to change status only occurs on real work entry in timesheet screen
