Hi everybody,
First, thank to Projeqtor that is really a good tool.
The only thing that doesn't match, for me, is plannification. I'm curently working on a customized plannification engine (by modifying the plannedwork.php page).
Does anybody tried (or successed) this kind of customization ?
Thanks.
Hi,
I DID !!!! :woohoo:
Well, I may not be a good example as I designed it
I'm not sure anybody else ever tried to do this :silly:
What is the issue to your opinion ?
Well....
I have to allocate work to differents resources and to plan projects and activities with a sharp respect of validated end dates even if there is no more available resource, so I obtain an evoluation of work overload... Of course, in this way, some actvities wil be planned whitout resources affectation.
Not sure I'm understandable, my english is a bit rusty...
Hi,
I understand what your target is.
You will have to change planning calculation, but also introduce notion of "overload", wich does not exist. So you'll have to change tables structure.
But I'm really not sure it is the good way to plan a project. (but this is only my own opinion).
Trying to always respect the target dates without changing anything in the project structure will drive you into the wall.
If an activity needs 10 days of work, and you plan it to end at target date with 5 days overload, how do you expect to do ?
My advise is to change the some parameters of your project so that the planning will be respected, and not change the planning rule.
For instance : add a resource, with 2 resources, you can end 10 work days in 5 days.
Increase resource capacity : If resource agrees to work 16 hours a day, it is the good solution.
If work is more easy than expected, then change left work to fit what is really needed.
The work of the project manager is to change the parameters of the project so that target dates are respected.
Not to close his yes with some overwork, thinking resource will work harder and finish the job in time.
Now it's up to you, if you wish to change planning rule.
I agree !
In fact, I don't realy manage a project but an outsourced prestation composed of a lot of small, short termed project.
I need to report of planed work un order to obtain decisions from client to increase resources or delay some projects.
After, each project is managed (almost) correctly 😉
