[#1482]

Hello,
Is it possible (maybe by configuration setting) to modify all dates fields (start date, end date) to support time stamp ? Meaning, we want to record start date and start time as well as end date + end time for each activity/task

Thanks in advance

no, it is not possible.

Default is only dates because ProjeQtOr does not plan on an hourly basis, but only on a daily basis.
This means that if two activities are planned on the same day, you don't know which is planned first... because none is planned first 😉

For start and end dates, in most cases (for activities) they are automatically updated from real work values.
But real work allocation does not provide information on hours of start / end work on an item, so it would not be possible to set hours.

For Tickets, the way to set start and end are different, and it may be important to check some indicators based on hourly durations.
So start and end dates for tickets are timestamps.

If you wish to have time on specific start / end for some items, please express it explicitly.
It won't be generalized.

You are using American format: MM/DD/YYYY. We would like to use UK format: DD/MM/YYYY

Date formating uses Dojo framework internationalization module, through the use of dojo.dateText widget.
So display is automatically adapted to the locale of the browser.

Yes, we would like to have time on start/end for tasks activities in the project. In our project planning we do have some activities at the same day and we have dependencies between them, so having timestamp will be very helpful.
It would be really nice to add this functionality.

As explained before, this is not possible for Activities.
Planning in ProjeQtOr does not take hours into account.
If you have dependencies, you'll easiy see which should start before the other one.

1) Keep in mind that ProjeQtOr does not take hours into account when planning
2) Imagine you have 2 tasks assigned at 50% to a resource, for several days, without dependencies : this means that resource will spend half day on each tasks, but ProjeQtOr cannot defined which to treat first every day (and this cound change every day).
3) Planning activities of less than one working day is not a very good idea : best practices in planning mostly recommend to plan tasks of about 5-10 days.
