Preliminary:
I try to model our product structure and keep track of existing Bundles and Deliveries.
Products and components and their versions are to define the product structure
and version compatibilities. It is not possible, that a product has multiple components
of one kind. Thats ok, as the focus here is structure and compatibility.
Use Case:
Example: Product consists of Motherboaard, 1-8 Daughterboards, Firmware.
Now I'd like to Define e.g. a Bundle {MB, 2 DB, FW} and a Bundle {MB, 8 DB, FW}.
Question:
I would have expected, that here deliverables come in to play. But they don't link to
products.
1. Exists a possibility to define Bundles ?
or
2. Exists a possibility to link Multiple products/components to a deliverable ?
Regards
1. Exists a possibility to define Bundles ?
Not in terms of Product, it is possible for Assets.
ProjeQtOr is a Project Management Tool, not a Product Selling tool.
The Product is the objective of the project, not something you repetidely build (or instanciate) during the project.
Exists a possibility to link Multiple products/components to a deliverable ?
You can link anything through the "Link" system.
But again, ProjeQtOr is not a Production Management Tool.
A deliverable is a Project Deliverable item, not a product delivery from a command.
OK, it's not part of your philosophy.
It's not 100% logic as the financial part allows to create invoices etc. and
an invoice is for a specific 'deliverable' in my understanding.
Buuut, i just read your answer again, assets may be the way...
It's not 100% logic as the financial part allows to create invoices etc. and
Yes, invoices... for the project, that may include many deliverables.
Not invoiced per product.
Ok, got it
