Hi

I tried to use the new (for me 😉 ) mode planification "fixed duration", but I think I'm doing something wrong.

When I use it, it is not mandotory to fill work and assign it, is it correct? So, I just need to fill duration field, and after planning respect my duration.

But why this task is not displayed on my diary? And if it is normal, so it is not taking during this activity as a "work" so my diary is not real, because others activities could be planned on these days.

PD: I recalculated my planning but same thing, task is not displayed on my diary.

Thanks for your help

Tasks are displayed on a diary for a resource.
So, if you are not specifying a resource to a task, it's normal that doesn't appear on any diary.
If you set "Fixed duration" and you assigned a resource to the task. The planning mode change to "As soon as possible". This not the behavior that do you want.
ProjeQtOr is oriented Effort-driven, so all features are available for this method.
I think "Fixed duration" should be used in the first draft of the project plan.

Fixed duration can be used to trace "external" tasks : you know the duration but won't work on it.
Or for instance to add some delay between tasks :
Task 1 => paint wall (2 work days)
Task 2 => wait until paint is dry (5 days duration)
Task 3 => put paper on wall

If you put some work on fixed duration, work is planned regularly (like regular between dates but in a floating mode) and you'll then see it on diary.
