After using ProjeQTor since few month, I have sometimes (often) difficulties to understand how ProjeQTor manage the planning constraints
Exemple 1
I have a fixed milestone (01/02/2017)
I have an activity with theses parameters
Milestone and activity are linked together
I don't understand why my activity is planned to start the 02/02 and not the 01/02 ? A milestone don't have any durantion also my activity should be start the 01/02, isn'it ?
(I don't input any delay between milestone and start of my activity
Exemple 2
This same activity has a duration of 3 days
When I affect a ressource with an assigned work of 1 day......the duration (on the graphical gantt ) become 1 day too -but stay 3 days on the activity description 🙁
For me, it is not the reality : I have to work 1 day but distributed on a duration of 3 days : how is it possible to have this graphical representation ?
I tried to use another planning constraint "fixed duration", I keep my duration when I assigned 1 day work for a ressource....but I can't also define that my activity don't start before a validated date 🙁 .
If I do that, I lost also again my duration (ont the graphical gantt) 🙁
Can someone explain me what is wrong with my process ?

It is because Activity has no assigned work.
Add some assigne work and activity will start on correct date (ProjeQtOr is effort driven)

You mismatch Duration and Work.
With planning mode ASAP, work will be planned ASAP...
What you expect is done with plannong mode "fixed duration"

First, when I create a project (but maybe is it only me), I enter only duration and dependancies betwenn activities, to have an idea of the global duration of my project. After, I enter assigned work.

What you expect is done with plannong mode "fixed duration"I'm not sure to mismatche duration and work : an activity can have a duration of 5 days for example, but with only 1 day work : this 1 day work is distributed all the 5 days duration. As Project Manager, I know that my activity is planned for 5 days (for different reasons) but has only a work of 1 day.
Actually, if I use "Fixed duration", I keep the right duration if I assign 1 day work, but I can't also no more fix a start date without the lost of the right duration.
And If I use the "ASAP constraint", I lost the duration if I assign a work (the same if I use "no start before this date" constraint

If you want some "floating" task, you set planning mode as "fixed duration" and add predecessor.
If you want to fix start date and duration, then select regular between dates.
