Hi,
When you create an activity and save over a validated set of date ranges for example a week, and then change the status to assigned for example this then changes the Gantt to be the date you changed it to.
This doesn't help too well with planning, i tried changing the planning dropdown box to fixed duration and some others but this doesn't do anything and it still changed the gantt chart and assigns the validated dates into planned which in this example would become todays date.
Is there no way for the Gantt to just show validated dates?

On the Gantt chart, ONLY calculated dates are displayed.
These calculated dates can sometimes be identical, and whatever the chosen planning method, to validated dates. Keep in mind 😉 that they have been approved by calculation before being displayed (or not) on Gantt.

ProjeQtOr mainly uses "effort driven" calcuation.
So activities with no work assigned are not really calculated, except for "fix duration" planning mode.
