[#1364]

I came across the Project'Or RIA software a couple of days ago and it seems perfect for a shared online project management tool. B)

However, I have had no luck trying to install the package on the hosting site, hostgator.com. I get an error message "SQLSTATE[28000] [1045] Access denied for user 'caversha_pm'@'198.57.240.28' (using password: YES) dsn = mysql:host=www.dttt.org.nz;port=3306".
I've tried the standard user/password for my account, then tried manually creating a database and user but got the same message.
The install routine is obviously trying to create a database but doesn't have the security levels to do so: I need to use cPanel to do this normally.

Has anyone else installed this software on a mysql/php hosting site?

Thanks,
G.

Yes I did.
First versions of Track and Demo where hosted at HostPapa, and configured using cPanel.
The good way is the one you tried (maybe incompletely) :
- create a new database throught cPanel
- create a new user throught cPanel
- give access rights to database for the user throught cPanel
- get back to Project'Or RIA setup
- define database host as "localhost"
- port should be default = 3306, but you should check this with your web hoster
- define database name : pay attention that providers often add a prefix to your database name : if you create database "projectorria", the database name could be "youruser_databasename"

You're no so far, keep going !!!

Merci, thanks! :cheer:
I'd done everything except the 'localhost' part - I was using the hosted domain name. Changed that and got the 'parameters saved', "DATABASE UPDATE COMPLETED TO VERSION V3.4.4" and logged in!
Cheers,
G.
