Maybe I miss something, or do something wrong. When I look at resources I see options to assign a resource to a task, for example tools, a crane, etc.
But I am looking for an option to assign material (to order) to a task.
For example : Task = Tile walls
Resources/material required : x sq meter of tiles , SKU#, and price
This also to include in a T&M invoice.
Hope someone can help me.

You can create a material resource. This is exactly its role. The material resource allows you to set an operating cost using the function and plan it for an activity.
And if you have a "human" resource which is dedicated to this machine you can link them using the support resources accessible on the resources screen
