[#1265]

Hi Babynus,

I have an issue regarding items lists.

I have a model which has more than 10.000 items (actually 10.424) and only 10.000 of them are displayed in the list.

My questions are : is there a limitation somewhere in Project'Or RIA ? (I can't find any..). And how could I bypass this limitation ?

Thx

No, there is no known limitation.
But maybe the grid Widgets has its own limits.

Anyway, you should set some filter, because displaying 10000 items is no real use : I don't know any human able to browse 10000 items and find interestinf data amongst the number.

Thx I'll look this way.

Well I totally agree with you ^^ With filters it works perfectly fine (forgotten lines are not forgotten anymore).
But my boss said "Noooo limits"... 🙂

I'm not sure you'll find a software able to display 1.000.000.000 lines 👿
Every software has limits 🙁

10.000 is low ?

Please, just list 10.000 items, and browse them (manually ) to retrieve one item you're loooking for

We'll discus of it when you've done 👿

Merry Christmas :silly:

Well, my data has a custom integer field, I can sort by this field and find my item easily with binary search (Dichotomie). 20 seconds ..
(If you don't know basic infos about your item, you're screwed anyway..)

Surely, operators won't use the list without filters, but I am sad that it is not exhaustive.

I still think 10.000 is pretty low, but it depends on what kind of data you are storing.
I am not asking for 1 billion, even 100.000 would have been nice..
