I use to link document (not document version) to my project.

I was wondering if there is an easy way to be able to retrieve, in the case of documents linked to project, the applicable version of that specific document at a given time... For exemple I link my project with a flowchart that can have different versions but I would like to quickly see all doc of my project that existed at a given time ? a kind of snapshot of documents/version" at a given time of my project ? I guess a plugin should have to be implemented to access this kind of things ?
