[#3891]

Hi all,

I have a question regarding resources assignment:

Please imaging the following project structure:

I have the Master Projectleader with one big Project which he wants to divide into two Projects, lets say Project1 and Project2
Then the Master Projectleader have 10 Ressources lets say E1.. E10 and two Projectleaders PL1 and PL2 which are all assigned to the big Project...

The Master Projectleader assigns the Project1 to PL1 and Project2 to PL2 and also the Resources E1..E5 to Project 1 and E6..E10 to Project 2

This I can do without problem in projeqtor. But the issue is that, because of all Resources are assigned to the top level project there are inherited to the sub projects. So PL1 can see and assign all resource from E1 to E10 and not only his assigned resources E1..E5, also PL2 can see E1..E10 and not only E5..E10. So PL1 and PL2 actually do not which resources they are allowed to use.

How could I solve this issue?

Thank you very much for your help 🙂

Just remove allocation to big project
As you guessed, access rights are inhérited to sub-project.
So if you define allocation to sub-project, you don't neet to define it at top level.

Thank you very much for the answer.

So there is now way to remove one resource to one subproject ?!

Because the Master Project leader needs his resources to be assigned by the boss, and has no access to the environmental parameter (Affectations). So as a project leader he does not see all resources, only the ones which are assigned to him. Therefore imo the resources have to be assigned to the big project...

Or to ask the question other way round: Is there a possibiliy that a project leader sees only his resources, but not resources which might be assigned to the top level project?

Thank you very much 🙂

Only way is to use the organization level or team and define resource visibility restriction accordingly (in specific acces rights)
For instance, you define 2 teams, link each resource (incuding Project Leader) to corresponding team and set visibility for project leader as "same team only"

Hi all,

I have an additional, very simliar question:

I have limited the ressources view to team/organization. This works e.g. in ressource planning where I see only the ressources from my team.
But if a new project is created and I want to assign as a ressource to it I see not only the limited list of ressources, but all which exist. in projeqtor.

As a result I can assign also ressources from other departments or teams, which is not desired.

Is there any way to limit also this list ?

Thank you very much.

Chris
