[#1676]

Hello,

There are several roles in PROJEQTOR, used for mailing for example (requestor, issuer, responsabile, project team, project leader, project manager, assigned ressource).

These roles are not clearly define, for example, what is the difference between project team and assigned ressource ? Or between project leader and project manager (there is a fields "manager" in project screen, but not a "leader" field, it seems that leader and manager are the same...).

Issuer and responsabile are easiest to spot, you find it in all objects linked to a project, then you can identify it to issuer or responsabile of report or threat the object. But, for requestor, I can fin dit only in ticket, but what is the difference with issuer ?

Many thanks for this geat job !

Hello,

Sure there should be some explanation in the user manual.

Here is a short summary :
requestor : Contact defined as "Requestor" on item. Sometimes appear as "Contact" (on Quotation and Order for instance) and sometimes have no meaning (for instance for Milstone).
issuer : the User defined as "Issuer" on item
responsible : the Resource defined as "Responsible" on item
project team : All Resources affected to the project
project leader : the Resource(s) affected to the project with a "Project Leader" profile (profile code = "PL")
project manager : the User defined as "Manager" on the Project of the item
assigned resource : all Resources assigned to the item (disabled for not assignable items)

Hi jmmbb,

may be this is not answer you are looking for.

First of all, roles controls access to data and views - see manual "access mode" and "Profile".

* Issuer is somebody who entered the Ticket, Activity, ...
* Requester: is somebody who is requesting topic represented on Ticket, Requirements, ...
* Responsible: is somebody who is responsible to performing topic - he could, but he is not compulsory the resource who will perform.
* Project leader: is a role in relation to access. I. e. if you sending a mail to project leader, every resource with role project leader related to a project will get this mail.
* Project Manager: is the Manager of the project.

Indeed differentiation between Leader and Manager is somehow tricky.

I hope, this could help.

Klaus
