I have been using this tool for a few months now, which I find very rich. The installed version is 8,2,4, with the modules: templateReport v2,2 and translationFrench v1,4 (these modules were originally deployed on version 8,2,2)
I now want to use the customer billing feature.
My project is of the "forfait" type (in French), which implies, if I have understood the documentation correctly, a type of invoicing "selon échéancier" ( at terms).
I have created a CLIENT BILLING TERM. Then I want to create an invoice. At this point, I can't make the link with the CLIENT BILLING TERM (while the invoice entry form displays the type of billing: "selon échéancier" - at terms).
When I want to add a line to the invoice, it is not possible for me to make the link with an iCLIENT BILLING TERM but only with an element of the catalog...

If your billing mode is "at terms" (depending on billing mode defined for project type), you have 2 buttons to add bill lines.
One will "manually" add lines (possibly from a catalog)
The second will add from a term.
Note that date of term must be passed to be able to select it on bill line.

I'm facing the same issue, using project with billing type 'at terms'
I've created client billing term and filled fixed price for term with date in the past. No trigger element for this term.
When I create an invoice I do not have the 2nd button on bill lines section (only a green + to add a line)
What did I missed? my objective of course is to link term and bill

If billing type is correct (at terms)
then you have two buttons to add bill lines
