[#5035]

Hi folks,

I have just started using projeqtor and I really like the concept.
Actually I am trying to import the activities from a csv through "Tools - Import data", that represent a project that already has started in November 2017.

All tasks turn out to be listed under each other at today's date with the duration of 1 and a progress of 0.

Those fields seem automatically to be set to a default although I filled in the
planned duration with a number of days (automatically set to 1)
progress with 0 or 20 or 100 (automatically set to 0)
planned start & end date with the dates of the tasks (automatically set to today's date)

I also have exported a Example-task and reimported it (with a different task name). It does not show the same like the original.

What am I doing wrong?

Cheers, FF

Planned data are never imported : they are calculated from other data : work and constraints.

You miss one point : assignments.
You need to assign work to a resource for a given activity to have real capacity planning calculation.

Other way to do, if you just need the drawing of a planning, is to use "fixed duration" planning mode for activities.
Then you'll have to specify validated duration.

Thanks for your reply.

For the future tasks we cannot assign resources as the contractors are not decided yet. I might set up a dummy contractor for this - perhaps it works out.

If not, where do I set up the tasks as "fixed duration"? I just had a look into the General Settings and did not find it.
Is it a Project's attribute?

Ok, found it and set all tasks to "feste Dauer" i.e. "fixed duration and imported again.

The task turned out at today's date with duration 1 instead of 2.

Before we solve that, I will enter all the tasks by hand. No problem.

I did another test and entered tree tasks belonging to a phase and having confirmed start and end dates (in the past).
In the status "recorded" they show up fine in the planning.
When I change a task from "recorded" to "assigned" the Planned Dates are set to today and the Planned Duration is set to 1.
That occurs independently with tasks set to "ASAP" or "Fixed Duration".

How do I manage to enter tasks properly?

Goal is:
1. Set up the Project Plan like it was planned.
2. Save a baseline.
3. Modify the tasks that already have been assigned to persons and either are "Done" or being worked on.
4. Then the succeeding tasks should delay according to the delays the project actually has. The project's end is expected to delay as well.
5. Saving an additional baseline of today.
6. In the future all Users whom tasks are assigned to should put in the days of work they have spent and the percentage of progress and the Planning is expected to adapt.

Is there a tutorial for the program?

Sorry for bothering you.

"Fixed duration" is a planning mode, defined on activities

Fine.
And how do you note 90% already haven been done?

Goal is to have the rest (10%) being shifted beyond today in dependence of the predessessors being finished when I hit the "Recalculation" ...

You cannot indicate progress with fully "fixed duration" tasks.
They are not-done or done...
"fixed-duration" end can't be replanned to take into account progress, as duration is fixed.

If you need to get progress, you need to indicate work (assigned work, real work, left work).
If you need to replan edn date, you cannot use fixed duration, but "asap"'.
