I've been trying to do a fresh install. I've met all of the requirements and settings for this program to work. I started off with the latest, 5.0.5. The database couldn't complete building all of the tables. I tried going down to a lower version. 1.x wouldn't allow me to install on my Linux server. 2.x had too long of a url, and I was receiving errors, because you weren't using posts. From 3.x on, the logs are telling me that I'm only getting around version 1.2 in building of the tables before it dies. My max_execution_time for my php.ini file is kicked way up to around 600 seconds.
I don't receive any errors during any of these installations. I just either get a hanging spinner that is stuck spinning indefinately, or it goes away with no error. It isn't until I read the logs do I see that the tables are not complete and stopped being built within seconds of starting the installation.
Please let me know if there is a fix, otherwise I'm quitting this and moving on to another solution.

In the log file, do the traces stop exactly after 600 seconds (10mn) ?
What is sure is that updates should not be so long.
Longuest I had was 4mn to install fresh V5.0, with a HDD bottleneck.
When solved (moved db files to antoher drive, SSD), the install ran in 15s...
Could you start an install of V5.0.5 and post result log files here (it could give hints).

It seems script ends about 50 seconds after start.
As it is really shorter than php timeout, issues may be :
- apache timeout
- mysql timeout
I think that second case would display an error in the log file.
So could you please check apache log file and post it here( error_log)
My apache error log said 2 things besides that it prematurely ended the script:
1) mod_fcgid: read data timeout in 40 seconds
2)mod_fcgid: process 22653 graceful kill fail, sending SIGKILL
So, I went into my WHM and changed the fastCGI timeout settings to be 400 seconds. That did the trick.
