Hello,
In result of switching activities between projects (activities which are hierarchical (contain children activities) I obtain situation where I have activity with no children (WBS 14.9.2.4) but when I try to remove it Projeqtor display warning that I will delete also 7 dependend activities.
Please take a look for picture bellow:
As you see my activity 920 has wbs 14.9.2.4... threre is no activity with deeper wbs.
I found interesting point... I have activity with no WBS:
I suppose this is reason why Projeqtor see relation but I do not see it.
When I forced to save this activity WBS was filled again correctly, activity again started to be visible in relation and on planing view.
So problem I think is, there is possibility toi damage wbs attribute in activity by using normal functionalities of Projeqtor.
-------------------
Another check.... I found this" not visible activities", please take a look for the picture:
Activity with WBS 14.9.4.1 is PARENT for a activities with WBS 14.9.7.1 and WBS 14.9.7.4
but this activities are in different PROJECTS!
How can I fix this mess ? Manually means a lot of work.
First be sure to use latest version of ProjeQtOr (V6.4.4)
We used to have such issues, that are fixed now.
But some older activities may still be in inscorrect position.
To fix issue, use multiple update mode.
Change parent activity (to anything), save.
Change parent activity back to correctio value, save.
All should be in order now
Yes, we are using 6.4.4 and I generated this issue using this version however I cannot tell you how old this activities are (maybe they were created using old version of Projqtor).
Anyway, with a lot of manual operations I succeeded to solve this issue but no idea how many other activities are impacted in our database.
How can we solve this issue globally for whole database ?
Difficult (if not impossible) to automatically identify such activities.
Possibly a way to fix is :
- move all projects at root of wbs under new temporary project
- move back projects to correct place.
WBS should be fixed.
(if projects are complex, this may be quite long)
I found case base on activity just created which on version 6.4.4 works crazy and very similar like described on previous posts.
Goal is to have 2 tabs (opened using "new tab" of Projeqtor).
Let's say I have on first tab planing view and on second tab one activity also visible on this planing view.
On planing view activity is in hierarchy (it is child of some parent activity):
I have the same activity opened on second tab and I make modification of its title by adding "1" at the end. Then I save activity.
Next I go back to first tab and just recalculate planing and obtain:
My activity has new name but was moved to crazy place but seems keep acapit.
When I try to move it again to right place I have:
so it is moved but does not respect parent.
Many thanks fior this very detailed use case
(I would like to have all issues describe this way B) )
I replayed exactly same use case ... and did not produce issue.
On my side, after racalculating planning on firt tab, activity is still on same place, but with name changed on second tab.
From logs on preivous posts, I saw your instance is patched with some plugins of your own (IGE-XAO InputValidation plugin : control for User #92).
As your issues may come from theses devs, I'd like you to test on "standard" version, to see if you can reproduce.
If you cannot move your instance to standard version, maybe you can test your use case on Demo ( https://demo.projeqtor.org). This way we'll be sure if not reproduction on my side is due to different way to play use case or if issue is only on your side, due to your own coding.
Thanks
