It would be nice to have a close button as is for New tab. Sometimes I have several tabs open to be able to compare the planning and I would like to close them once I don't need any more.

Youy can easily close the browser tab....

No, it will not close the connection if the tab was opend with the "new tab" button.
It will close the connection if tab was opended throught the browser options.
