If it's not already possible, it could be very useful to be able to display the Absences in the Resource Planning ...(with another color)

This won't be possible or at least have no insterest.
Gantt chart (format of resource planning) displays a single, not fragmented, line for each task.
You would only see one line from start of Absence (first one) to end of absence (last one), which is not what intrests you... you would like to see each absence period.

Ok, I agree but in fact we was thinking the absences as a something like a "task" I think in this case it may work

It would work if each absence period was a specific task.
But it's not the case, all periods are recorded on same task so Gantt barr would not show detail of absence periods.

Hi,

I suggested something similar (Ticket: Show leaves in resource planing ?).

It would be great if someone could see when a resource is absence by inspecting the resource-plan. So it might be an idea to use background-coloring.

At the moment ...

  1. ... there is no chance to have a look at resource-planing to identify the next free period
  2. ... someone has to compare resource-planing and leaves-dashboard to identify if absence is the reason a task/project is taking so long.

I think it would be great to have the tool extended this way.

Best regards,
Torben

Report "colored monthly planning" provides easy way to see this.
