I would like to have some people external to my organization access our Projeqtor base so that they can enter support tickets, or project risks for example.
This is something that could be quite useful to promote the tool with some customers, for example, but in order to manage discretion the easiest would be to have a field "external" (checkbox for example) that would allow visibility of the item when checked.
It is something that we have used in Excel files, to extract and share externally only some project risks, and not all... but of course would be much sexier directly in the tool !
My idea would be :
1) For the following items, add a field "external", type boolean / checkbox :
- tickets
- risks
- opportunities
- actions
- issues
- decisions
- questions
These are items which can typically be shared with a customer / supplier.
2) Add a global parameter so that administrator can select which profile(s) are impacted by the "external" flags.
3) When a user with profile "guest" (or whatever has been defined in the global parameter) uses Projeqtor, the list of items shown in each of these menus is limited to only those where 'external = true'.
This would add an extra level of detail to the filtering layer defined in the access rights. What do you think ?

For a given project, if some external visibility has to be defined, I create 2 projects :
P1 : Main Project
P1.1 : External project
P1.1 is sub project of P1.
The internal team is affected to project P1.
The external team is affected to P1.1.
Objects in P1 can be seen only by internal team.
Objects in P1.1 can be seen by both internal and external teams.
Yes, indeed, we have been using this method.
Just thought it might be a more simple approach 🙂
