The Start guide is a fantastic idea.

It is meant to work like a "data wizard" for people who are new to the ProjeQtor.

However, it is common for all types of users.
I suggest that it should have different types of content depending on who has signed in.

For example,

  • Only a senior manager would be authorized to set up profiles and access modes (these are policy matters),
  • A middle manager would be allowed to define, plan and monitor a project
  • A team leader would be allowed to assign work and supervise
  • A resource (developer, tester) does not need to bother with any of the above
  • Also, most people would need to customize the following default settings:
    1. Setting up calendar(s)
    2. Setting up profiles
    3. Setting up workflow
    4. Setting up teams
    5. Setting up access modes

But the Start guide skips these properties. So they should be added (depending upon the role).

Another aspect is that the project management does not require all fields.
For example, the organization may decide to skip all operations related to the Contacts (e.g. communication, invoicing, collection).
The tip should mark such non-mandatory fields as "(Optional)".

Start guide is proposed only to Administrator.
It is just a "how to start" guide, not "how to use" guide.

Also, most people would need to customize the following default settings:
    1. Setting up calendar(s)
    2. Setting up profiles
    3. Setting up workflow
    4. Setting up teams
    5. Setting up access modes

These are advanced settings, absolutely not needed to "start" as default configuration works fine to discover the tool.

On second thoughts, I think it would be best if we have an article that describes a walk-through a typical project.
    I can write that.

It would cover how a typical project is born in an organization, and then how ProjeQtor supports its SDLC.

Unfortunately I'm afraid it's always different depending on organizations and existing processes
