As per configuration of rights, it should not stop update/change status to "paused" from "in progress" for profiles (Project Member & Project Leader), but in my case it is happening.
Please refer all attachments & do help me to resolve it.

MySQL Version: 5.7.36
PHP Version: 7.4.26
Apache Version 2.4.51
Browser Version 103.0.2 (32-bit)
Issue is not relative to workflow (the message would be different) but to rights.
User that is Project Member may have no right on a dedicated item. Check allocation to project.
Perfect, It was set profile as "external project leader " in "allocation to project"
It's solved.
