Hello,

We have a question about the management of ProjeQtOr.

But first, we have to explain how we use the application.
When we create a project and an activity in ProjeQtOr, we assign it to a team using the field « responsable » and the part « assignation » and we indicate the workload.
When all the necessary fields are completed, we go to the planning view and calculate the planning.

Thanks to this action, the activity appears in the reporting of the team.

Each team is made up of different people. When the team leader wants to assign someone of his team to an activity, he changes the field « responsable », putting the name of the person concerned and taking of the team and do the same thing for the part « assignation ».
Then, he doesn’t calculate the planning again.

We have a problem because each information is distorted in the report of the teams. When the team leader looks at the activities of each person of his team in the report, there are some mistakes and the workload of the person doesn’t appear if he/she didn’t make his/her imputation.

My question is to know :
- If we are using the application correctly ;
- If ProjeQtOr allows us to manage named assignment when the assignment starts from a team.

I hope everything is clear, it isn’t easy to explain. Don’t hesitate if you have any question.

Thank you in advance.

Hi,

Using single resource for a Team should be used only for draft planning.
In your case, you should concider using "Pools"

Thank you in advance.

Actually we use Pools for our teams but we are not able to assign teams in Pools to the activity. We only can assign teams and people in resources.

Is it normal ?

Thank you in advance.

Yes.
Pools is sort of team.
Only individual resource can be allocated to pool.
This will constitue a Pool a resources, some kind of Team, that you can allocate to projects and assign to activitites (you cannot do that with teams, only with pools).
This will give possibilty to plan activities just konwing that "one resource of the pool" will work on the activity, but you don't know which yet.
This is important to allocate real resources to the pool as :
- sum of capacities of resources will generate global capacity of the pool
- planning of pool will take into account work planned for resources
- planning of resources will take into account work planned for pools, assuring that at least one real ressource is available to execute work planned for pool.

Actually I was wrong. We use Teams and single resources.

The problem is that we don't have Pools as you can see here :

Maybe I'm not looking in the right place.

Thank you in advance.

I checked in access rights and I don't see any reference to "pools".
As you can see here :

I also checked in each submenu and I didn't find it

Hello,

Do you have another document about pool of resources. We have already readen the user guide (using f1) but have difficulties knowing how it works.

Here you can see the way we work in ProjeQtOr as mentioned in our former post.

"But first, we have to explain how we use the application.

Then, he doesn’t calculate the planning again."

We would like to know the the charge assigned to the pool, and the charge imput by the human ressource...

Thank you in advance

Unfortunately not.

Each team is made up of different people. When the team leader wants to assign someone of his team to an activity, he changes the field « responsable », putting the name of the person concerned and taking of the team and do the same thing for the part « assignation ».
Then, he doesn’t calculate the planning again."

You can just add assigned work for the resource, it will be substracted from the pool ,automatically.

Hello,

I have another question about pool of resources.
I have created a pool made of 2 resources (for a test).
To realize my test, I have created a project with 2 activities Inside.
The 1st resource of the pool have made his allocations in the activity assigned to the pool (he is reponsible of the activity).
The other one has done the same thing for the other activity (he is also the responsible of the activity).

When I check the reports (planning => monthly planning resource/project/activity), I find 2 different results for each resources. They have exactly the same profile.

Here is the report for the 1st one :

Here is the report for the 2nd one :

Do you have any idea of where it can come from ?

Thank you in advance.

I guess PACKAPPLI is the pool, Toto 1 the first resource and Toto 2 is the second resource...

First report shows data for Toto 1, including work planned for the pool he belongs to.
As ha has nothing planned out of the pool, there is nothing else but pool data.

First report shows data for Toto 2, including work planned for the pool he belongs to.
Toto2 just sees his own real work additionnaly to pool data.
