Hello,

I'm working at a university and we are part of different consortiums at an european and international level.
Is it possible to add each partner and member of a consortium in Projector?
We would like to set individual parameters for each partners (working time, workload, budget, cost per function...)

If it's not possible to have all partners identified, I think the solution would be to enter each ressource from each partner (which is a lot) individually.
In this case could it be possible to allocate a ressource to a different organisation than ours and set parameters for each organization?

Thanks for the help,

Best regards

Yes,
there is not contraint blocking on that

We would like to set individual parameters for each partners (working time, workload, budget, cost per function...)

Yes and No,
You can define partner as a resource, then you'll be able to manage workload, budget, cost per function
but not "working time" as this is defined only globally of per project (not per resource).

If it's not possible to have all partners identified, I think the solution would be to enter each ressource from each partner (which is a lot) individually.
In this case could it be possible to allocate a ressource to a different organisation than ours and set parameters for each organization?

Yes, defauld configuration does not block this and you can block this for some profiles and not for others (for instance partners could allocate only of partners of their organization)

Thank you for your answer !

If I understand correctly, the only way to have different partners is to add them as ressources. This allows to modify their parameters.
However by doing that we cannot identify people that work at the partners institutions as a ressource of the partners and have their parameters directly associated?
For exemple we have a consortium with 9 partners for partner 1,  teachers cost 200/h and adminstative staff cost 190/h, for partner 2, its 215 and 185.... and it changes for each partner. Is there a solution to associate a ressource to a partner and, once its function is entered, have the costs automatically match.
We have no choice but add each person and modify its parameters individually.

When you say that it's possible to allocate a ressource to a different organization : "Yes, defauld configuration does not block this and you can block this for some profiles and not for others (for instance partners could allocate only of partners of their organization)"
How is it technically done ? Do I have to go to each ressource profile and create a new organization from there? Is there a space where we can see everything associated to an  organization? And last question can I set parameters for an organization, if yes where do I go on the plateform to do it

I hope my questions are clear
Thank's for the help,

Best regards

I'm happy to see this topic because I believe ProjeQtor is very useful for managing European Projects.I handle projects funded by the European Union in various programs, mainly INTERREG and Horizon. In these projects, ProjeQtor could serve as a platform for managing both financial and technical aspects.I'm currently in the process of setting up the application, as it's not easy to understand how to manage a single project. Just to simplify for everyone:

  • EU projects are complex projects where there's a coordinator and multiple project partners. The "client" is typically the European Commission, which provides funding in advance (for Horizon) or upon reimbursement (for INTERREG) based on financial and technical reports.
  • The costs to report include staff, administration (a fixed rate for staff), travel, subcontracting, equipment, and infrastructure works. Staff costs are reported using hourly rates for the organization's staff.

As reported in this thread by alida.sadelli, it is not so easy to understand how to manage the other partners. they are organizations which are linked to a project. so in this case one project may have several organizations, each of them with a specific staff to be reported in the project.

then, there is the technical part.
each project can have several work packages, each of them with a specific budget for each (or some of the) organizations involved in the project.
each WP can have several tasks.
each task can have 1 or more deliverables (mainly reports)
each deliverable, task and WP has a responsible partner (organization) in chargeSo, I believe it's just a matter of diving deeper into the application and really studying it, which does take time. I've tried to join some demonstrations, but they were only available in French, and unfortunately, I couldn't make it due to work conflicts. While the manual is helpful, I think the true potential of this application could be better understood if there were explanatory videos available. I understand that some aspects are tied to business considerations, as you're providing a service, but many of my colleagues who I've introduced to Projeqtor struggled to grasp its potential because there isn't a clear guide to help them understand the application (with some examples and business cases, better if in video tutorial). If you're interested in tapping into this market segment (which I assure you, is very interesting), I'd love to schedule a call with you to discuss the world of European Projects further.some competitors (no one is open source)

so in this case one project may have several organizations, each of them with a specific staff to be reported in the project.

A project may have one only Organization (yours or the one who leads the project).
But project can have allocated resources that come from different Organizeations

I think the true potential of this application could be better understood if there were explanatory videos available...
... with some examples and business cases ...

We provide trainings that explain how to use all features of projeqtor.
We also provide support that allows users to ask questions, submit evolutions request, post issues, ...
So tutorial videos : yes, we thought about it, and strarted the job on it, but found it is very long to have even a small video, and sure it may not cover all use cases, and sure we will not provide it for free.
You compare to competitors that are paid ones, so business model ios not the same.
Open source, real free one, does not resuire you to pay to use it, but of course you may get less support that for a paid application, unless you pay for this support.

Thanks babynus, I did not want to show the road, hope you understood. In any case, as soon as I will advance in the Projeqtor knowledge I will for sure ask for some private and professional training or support.

A project may have one only Organization (yours or the one who leads the project).
But project can have allocated resources that come from different Organizeations

So, just to bypass this issue, and to make some brainstorming, if I have to use the application for eu projects (like as me), could it work if I use resources like as project partners (which are companies or institutions) and add them in the specific task/action/report? in this way I could allocate budget to them.

Yes, a resource is any entity working on projects.
So it can be a person or a group of person or an entity containing persons ...
