Hi,
In activity, I would lik to leave the manual planning mode, but I got this message.
However, I don't see any real planning for this activity (planned dates are grey and empty).
Also, why manual progress is limitated to fixed duration ?
Thanks in advance
HI,
Which message ? ( not attached)
What the meaning of the last sentence ? Do not understand.
The message is impossible to leave "manual" planning mode as some real planning exists.
Concerning the last sentence, it seems that the setting manually the progress of an activity is limitated to fixed duration planning mode. But why this limitation ?
Thanks in advance.
Sorry, but i still do not undersand your request about tthe link beetween, progress, planning mode and fixed duration. Could you explain again. Thank U;
Fixed duration is one of the available planning mode for activities.
Setting the planning mode to fixed duration is mandatory to set manually the progress of the activity. But why such a limitation ? Why this feature is not available in manual planning mode for instance ?
What is your matter ? Yes on fixed duration the progress could be calculated "manually" based on valided cost or are you talking about the fact that progress is calculated depending on the duration if no workload had been given ? On first case, you can integrate the progress of this single activity which you do not master ( supplyer, another office, another team, ...) on your whole progress of the project to get a better real value than none.
On manual planning progress is only calculated depending on the workdone compare to the whole one ( done + left) cause you have given and planified real workload by your own because you master ( you manage) this activity.
Hi,
I thing you make a confusion beetween "Manual Planning mode", and "Fixed duration mode" that give acces to manual input of progress.
"Manual planning mode" give possibility to enter planned dates through "Planned intervention screen". You cannot change the mode if some planned intervention exist.
For "fix duration mode", if you select the option in global parameter, you can manually enter progress on the activity (as long as there is no assignment on the activity)
Clearer! Thanks a lot.
