Hello,We would like to share user feedback regarding the “Budget item” field when entering a project expense. We use 12.4.2 version.Currently, the dropdown list presents all budget items (around 80 in our case) in a non-sorted manner. This makes it quite difficult and time-consuming for users to find the correct entry.Observed issues:
- The list is not sorted (e.g. alphabetically), which reduces readability.
- No filtering or autocomplete mechanism is available.
- With a large number of budget items, manual scrolling becomes inefficient and error-prone.
Suggested improvements:
- Sort the list (alphabetically or by code).
- Add an autocomplete / type-ahead search feature.
- Optionally allow filtering (e.g. by project, category, ...).
These enhancements would significantly improve usability and data entry efficiency, especially in organizations with many budget lines.Thank you for considering this feedback.Best regards,
Hi, thank for your feedback,
regarding the field for the list of budget items, this list is sort by budget n° BBS (ex : 1.1.2 -> 1.1.3 -> 1.2.0 ect...).
So if you want to change this BBS order you can use the Hierarchical budget screen who can let you drag and drop budget to resort them.
Otherwise, we create a ticket #11370 for your issue with auto completion for this list, It something that can be improve.
This ticket maybe will be avalaible on next patch, if you want it sooner, you can use the subscription service to to get any fixe as soon as they fixed.
Besst regards.
Hi,
Thank you for your detailed reply and for the clarification regarding the BBS-based sorting — this helps us better understand the current behavior. The BBS ordering can indeed be helpful for structuring the list even if with more than 80 budget items, manually reorganizing them via drag & drop can become a bit time-consuming in practice.
We also appreciate you taking our feedback into account and creating ticket #11370 for the autocomplete improvement. This will clearly bring significant value for usability on our side.
Thanks again for your support and consideration.
Best regards,
