It could be plan after but never owe to be planed before or after. Planning calculation depend on dependencies and resources's disponibilities. Sometimes it could be explained also by the mode of planification you use on activities.
From now, it's missing some informations from your project to tell you why the calculation behaves this way.

We need details (screenhshots) of 2 activities that you consider as not correcly planned : progress part, dependencies and assignments.
A screenshot of the planning showing the 2 activities.
Details of allocations of both projets.
Information of who is running planning calculation (profile, allocations,...).

You will show detailled information
First screenshoot : task must be planned just after predecessor end

Second screenshot : task planned between predecessor and task of first screenshot

Third screenshoot : task are from different project, then this screenshoot show project priority

Planning are calculated by admin, on all project.
Even each morning by automated task

- highlight the lines to be read on Gant.
- SHow the resource allocations on projects and assignations on activities for each involved
- What about and where is the predecessor ? Do not really understand...
- Check the cell " show wbs " on Gantt view.
It will make it easy for me to understand the whole links.

In the present case, a task without dependency, of type "activity", of a project of priority 290 is scheduled before a task without dependence, of type "activity", of a project of priority 100.

This can be due to dependencies.
When an activity or a project has a predecessor, even with better priority, it cannot be calculated before the predecessor, so will get the same priority as the predecessor.
